Hello welcome back to my blog ^^
I felt guilty didn't post anything for this past two weeks, my life just hectic recently. As I'm in the middle of writing thesis researchat the same time I work, taking class etc. I need more than 24hours a day. but anyway, I'm back with skincare review. Cetaphil was very kind to sent me their product to try,  I got the gentle skin cleanser and moisturizing cream. but I will tell you my honest opinion and my experience with this product for this past three weeks.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

Product's description

taken from cetaphil website:
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is a mild, non-irritating formulation that soothes skin as it cleans. In fact, it's gentle enough for a baby's delicate skin. Designed specifically to work for all skin types, it is a simple, yet highly effective way to care for your skin.

• Our best-seller and fan favorite
• As gentle as it gets — soothes and cleanses, leaving skin smooth and soft
• Mild, soap-free formula cleanses without irritation — it won’t strip skin of its natural protective oils or emollients
• Moisturizes without leaving residue that can clog pores
• Good for special skin needs including those of rosacea-prone skin

how to use :

  •  use without water: Apply a liberal amount of cleanser to the skin and rub gently. Remove excess with a soft cloth, leaving a thin film on the skin.
  •  use with water: Apply cleanser to the skin and rub gently. Rinse.

I got my cetaphil gentle cleanser in smaller one, 125ml, because usually I see it on the drugstore with the pump one with giant size, which is 300ml. I don't really remember the price, but for this size, It costs around Rp.150.000. cmiiw. It comes in plastic bottle with flip flop cap. The packaging reminds me of something similar with shower gel.

Because this is my first time trying cetaphil product, I'm kinda surprise with the texture of the gentle cleanser. The texture is kinda gel but liquidy at the same time. It has no fragrant at all because I cannot find any smell on it.

My skin condition change everyday. Sometime it's dry, itchy, and sometime oily. Depend on how long I stay in air con room in a day. When I stay almost 24 hours in room with AC. I will focus on moisturizing and hydrating my skin. So cleanser with stripping or making my skin dry is NO NO.

When I try this cleanser, I'm surprised, it doesn't foamy at all. It's none soap/detergent product base which is very good for someone with sensitive skin.  While cleansing, it glides smoothly and after rinsing with water. It leaves moisturizing and smooth feeling towards the skin but at the same time it leaves "not super clean" feeling.

So far, It doesn't break me out, and it so gentle for my skin. Because it doesn't foamy at all I often end up using so much product to make sure it cleans my skin very well.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream

I used to have super dry skin especially in rainy season. My face would feel dry, and itchy. Maybe because I have cold urticaria (allergy to cold) too. I'm also sensitive when AC hit my face. I cannot skip moisturizing cream because it really helps protect my skin from cold. I like to change my moisturizing cream very often, last time I gave up moisturizing cream and change to facial oil because it's hard to find the one that moisturizing skin very well. My experience with my first facial oil also, I found it's too light and I end up using 7 to 10 drop .

Product's Description

Cetaphil moisturizing cream comes in 100ml and it comes in plastic tube with screw cap. The texture of the moisturizing cream is a thick cream, feels rich like a balm. Even this is a thick cream, It's easy to blend and doesn't feel heavy.

This is really moisturizing for dry skin , even after several hour this product still sit on the skin. Because it's really thick and rich, I usually use this in tiny amount... As I also have several dry patch in several body area like elbow, butt, and foot. I like to use this on that area and it really works like a magic. Seriously! Because last time, my dry patch on the butt area in serious condition (due to the usage of menstrual pads),  my coconut oil doesn't really work. So I decided to use this for a night, and no itchy and flaky butt anymore...

So far, this is the thickest and richest moisturizing cream that I've ever tried and I like it. For chronic dry skin, this is really work in keeping the skin moisturized for several hours . For oily skin, you might found this product so greasy.

Overall

Both product are good for dry and sensitive skin. The gentle cleanser is so gentle and it doesn't stripping out the skin. but it doesn't give "clean" feeling after washing. For the moisturizing cream its really suitable for dry skin because it can moisturize the skin in a long time and little amount goes a long way, It also can be use for dry area on the body. The downside, not everybody like the rich cream which doesn't absrob to the skin.
